A prolific academic writer, researcher, and cultural critic, J is obsessed with all things “dark”, experimental, avant-garde and strange, looking for the spark of soul and imagination wherever it might be found. An even more prolific critic, he’s a staff writer at PopMatters and Spectrum Culture, has written for Little White Lies, Certified Forgotten, Film & Fishnets; published chapters about horror and Gothic Studies with Palgrave and Routledge, and delivered presentations for Manchester Gothic, Sheffield Gothic, and the Supernatural Studies Journal at Marist College. He also makes music and DJs as dessicant.
