Chiron – Enzo Caselnova (2025) – Album Review

Album: Chiron
Artist: Enzo Caselnova
Release Date: August 1, 2025
Enzo Caselnova has never shied away from two things: hugs and making absolute bangers. He’s equal parts open arms and controlled sonic detonation. Released just under two years after his last album This Could Be Us (a great album), Enzo picks up right where he left off with Chiron – and it doesn’t so much continue a story as it opens a trapdoor beneath your feet. When I would persistently ask Enzo at shows about when his next album was going to drop, he’d always give a cordial, smiling and almost HR-like response each time with a little grin. Should’ve known better. That grin was the smirk of a man holding dynamite behind his back.
Chiron is the kind of album we all need right now. This is pure IDM joy – absolutely no wasted motion. The sequencing is deliberate, the energy unforgiving. I think the word I’m looking for is, “catharsis”. This album is catharsis served up in a very tidy 7 tracks. Whatever flavor of satisfaction you’re looking for, Enzo serves it up. Every measure lands with intent. No padding or filler – just clean, surgical destruction. Tight edits, rapid fire breaks, rhythmic twists that hit with full intention. How many different ways can I say this? It’s tight. For me, the standout track is Switch, but that’s my catharsis. Everyone’s going to hear their own rupture point. Each track holds its own brand of precision trauma.
Again, this is another one of those albums that burns so quickly that you’re kind of annoyed that you listened to it so fast. At just over 20 minutes, Chiron hits hard and disappears fast down the highway – you catch the tail lights, hear the echo of breakbeats dopplering into the distance, and find yourself wishing you’d jumped in the backseat. I would absolutely recommend this album.
