Welcome to part THREE of our review of For Peace. Against War. Who Is Not? A Compilation For The People Of Ukraine.

DecommissionedForests starts us off right – the pleasantries are long gone; we’re deep into the marrow of this thing now. Digging in for that long winter of pain and suffering. The album takes a nice, dark turn right about here and I absolutely love it. Nothing like feeling the adrenaline fading – the body steadies, the noise wafts, and what’s left is the weight of reality settling in.

This war in Ukraine bleeds like an old wound – deep, raw, unending. Armies grind through trenches and cities collapse under steel and missile fire. Entire towns are just … gone. Civilians become fodder for western media war statistics. Infrastructure and families are shattered. The death toll climbs. Let this be a reminder that Putin’s tyranny is not remote – it lives in the blood of societies, echoes in the wounded cities of Ukraine, and will FOREVER whisper in the stillness of communities and lives ruined. Vladimir Putin’s crimes in Ukraine are nothing more than a grotesque tapestry of power, corrosion, and wasted lives. Pure evil.

If you do anything with this album, besides buy it (all proceeds to support Ukraine’s humanitarian relief efforts), you should listen to it while reading about Putin’s war crimes and the resolve the Ukrainian people. Read the reports, the testimonies, the lists of towns erased, and let the music crawl through that horror like smoke through a broken window. The tracks from Joan Hacker, Schneider TM, Darren Chapman and Sinnthese are especially haunting for this activity.

The album grows heavier with each section. Part four looms on the horizon, and I’m ready for it.

Keep listening and don’t forget to buy the album.
