pierretronic – juracán (2025) – Album Review

Album: pierretronic

Artist: juracán

Release Date: December 12, 2025

Yes, you read that release date right. December 12, 2025. No, this isn’t a glitch in your space-time continuum – though lord knows the Pacific Northwest has enough wormholes to make that plausible. Wormholes aside, this album hasn’t been officially released. Yet despite that pesky obstacle we call “logic”, here you sit reading a review for something that won’t be released for another two weeks.

Where’s your happy place? How do you even define such a thing? Is there a place somewhere out there that’s objectively “happy” for all of us? Is there some universal zone of bliss we’re all subconsciously clawing toward – a shared communal sanctuary stocked with every scrap of joy our species has managed to produce? Or is the happy place a private refuge, a psionic back alley where you finally feel aligned with the world instead of crushed beneath it? Whatever the answer, for many, pierretronic will be a path to that happy place.

The ingredients are simple. Deep basslines, leisurely BPM, satisfying blips and slow arps with wailing strings and synths. Mechanical satisfaction is great for those who live in the metal world, the material world – but when you’re cutting through the haze with electronics and the sound is feeling floaty and stripped down, you might be entering your, dare I say, happy place? A place where all the noise falls away and the world stops trying to yank you in six directions at once. A rare pocket of calm carved out of the chaos. This is where juracán does their best work – creating a path toward that place you keep somewhere in the collective subconscious. You’re just there, breathing in a space that wants nothing from you.

Great album. Definitely check it out.
